The Society is always keen to encourage young people to show an interest in the clan and to support its various activities. With this in mind we offer a number of initiatives for people in education.

dundee university bursary

This is a scholarship to support a first-year student at the University of Dundee with a connection to Clan MacThomas. We are currently accepting applications. Funding is provided by The Clan MacThomas Society and has a maximum value of £500.

ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION

Do you know any 17 to 23 year old at college or university who wants to win a prize of US$500 or £300?

The North American Branch is delighted to announce that, for the first time, it is offering its Essay Competition to the children and grandchildren of ALL full Society members worldwide. The competition is open to any student, aged between 17 and 23 as at 1st January 2023, who is currently attending College or University.

An essay of one thousand words on any Clan MacThomas or Scottish topic may be submitted for consideration. The winner will receive a prize of US$ 500 or equivalent. Essays should be submitted electronically by emailing: essaycompetition@clanmacthomas.com.
